De kunstenares Melanie Thomas behandelt in haar nieuwste expo de beruchte Ierse urban legend omtrent de priester Alistair Burke, die in 1986 een portret schilderde van de achtjarige Siobhan Callahan. Laatstgenoemde verdween dagen later, net zoals haar portret op het schilderij. Burke nam afstand van het priesterschap en zondert zich sindsdien af. Wanneer Melanie gecontacteerd wordt door diezelfde Burke met de vraag om naar Ierland af te reizen, neemt ze het aanbod aan. Ze weet echter niet dat sommige urban legends weleens waar kunnen zijn.
